Galway Sea Scouts maintain a Hawk 20 called Gina G on behalf of Irish Sailing, which is used to support our own Sailing for all program, but also as a resource to other Irish Sailing clubs around the country.
Gina G may be booked at cost of €130 per week (or part of) with the following terms. please email secretary@galwayseascouts.com to enquire about availability, payment and deposit.
Loan period shall be from point of collection and return to Galway Sea Scouts site in Port of Galway. Galway Sea Scouts may mutually agree logistical matters (collection, return, packing, towing, assembly) with any lender.
Galway Sea Scouts shall be responsible for the general maintenance and repair of Gina G and all associated equipment to ensure it is available in good condition and in a safe and seaworthy condition. We shall also ensure the boat is properly packed and prepared to be towed safely including provision of a safe and roadworthy road trailer.
Lender shall inspect Gina G and associated equipment upon collection and note any damage or need of repair. Any damage or need for repair recorded upon return that was not noted on collection shall be the responsibility of the lender. Any costs to repair or replace parts during loan period shall be borne by the lender. The lender shall endeavour to return the boat in good and seaworthy condition so that it is available for ongoing use.
Lender is responsible for any loss or damage to persons or property due to the possession, use or transport of Gina G boat, associated equipment and trailer.
Lender shall be responsible for the safe and legal transport, storage and use during loan period.
Lender shall use the boat exclusively for sailing activities at their own Irish Sailing registered club and the boat shall not be loaned to third-parties. The trailer shall not be used to transport other vessels or loaned to other parties. Galway Sea Scouts may utilise tracking equipment to monitor the location of any vessel or equipment on loan. Galway Sea Scouts may inspect the vessel and equipment at any time during the loan period with reasonable notice.
Lender shall not amend or alter the vessel or equipment in anyway or add or remove any signage, parts or equipment. Lender shall provide photos of Gina G in use together with a short description of activities for each loan period.
Payment and deposit must be paid in advance of loan period.
